I3P - Progress assurance project

Innovation Awards Through the Infrastructure Industry Innovation Platform (i3P), Murphy has been working alongside a number of other contractors on a project proposal. This project, which will be funded through an innovation scheme sponsored by Highways England, seeks to address and explore some of the challenges surrounding the detection, visualisation and verification of buried assets locations. ’Buried assets’ is a broad term used to describe the cables, pipes, ducts, culverts and wires that underpin all infrastructure. From fibre optic telecommunications cables, to water pipes for your taps, to gas pipes for heating – buried assets are everywhere, and are a fundamental component within infrastructure development. Some high level benefits are improvements to safety, cost, productivity and communication. Get involved! The i3P is a fountain of knowledge and information. To find out more about how Murphy is working with i3P, please head to https://www.i3p.org.uk/partners/murphy/ Murphy’s progressive innovation strategy is a commitment to openness, transparency, collaboration and recognition. By developing an innovation ecosystem that is truly open, Murphy is able to work alongside clients and peers alike to find and develop the best solutions for some incredibly complex challenges. A core part of this is to recognise and reward those that have contributed to driving the innovation agenda. We place great importance on celebrating the successes and behaviours of individuals, teams and projects across Murphy that are setting an example for others to follow. This can involve challenging the status quo, and simply asking “what if?”. This summer, a select number of individuals will be invited to a staff event at our headquarters in Kentish Town, where there will be a section for innovation awards. CEO John Murphy will be presenting the awards to a handful of individuals at the event, in recognition and celebration of their efforts. Not only is this important for maintaining a mature innovation capability, this is a chance for us to recognise those who have helped the innovation team drive a programme of behavioural and cultural change. Staff will be recognised for the outstanding performance in the following categories: • Most active champion • Most active individual • Most shared knowledge • Most active sponsor • Most discussed idea
