TS16 SECONDARY & DOUBLE SEALS
OR SERVASEAL 2 OR 4 FOR PRIMARY SEAL
SELECTED SEAL TIP
OR SERVASEAL 2
The Servaseal double seal develops the concept of the compression plate secondary seal into a single unit, combining the attributes of primary and secondary seals. The seal can be fitted without extensive welding of the clips, or attachments to the roof rim plate. The double seal is only fitted on the rim plate projection. On retrofit applications, the double seal safely passes over the remaining clips and fasteners that have been previously welded to the roof rim plates. These are normally left behind by most primary seals.
4
TS100 & TS1 MECHANICAL SEALS
We have developed the TS100 lightweight mechanical primary seal, to meet the growing demand for an economic primary seal system. This provides positive vapour retention capabilities, longevity of operation, an all-bolted design, and removes the need for hot work during installation. The TS100 mechanical primary seal can be used in a variety of rim spaces and configurations. It consists of stainless steel or galvanised shoe plates, held against the tank shell by sprung hanger assemblies and sealed with an impervious continuous membrane. The TS-1 is a mechanical shoe seal for welded tank shells. This type of seal is most widely used on floating roof tanks and is normally used for a nominal rim gap of 8”. However, it can be used for wider rim gaps. It is robust and has had a good service record for many years. The sealing ring is a series of metal plates, attached end-to-end. It is held against the tank shell by a system of weighted levers. The pantograph assembly and weight exerts a constant pressure, in order to push the sealing ring against the tank shell. The built-in flexure accommodates any shell irregularities. A continuous, vapour tight resistant synthetic rubber coated fabric or Teflon material, is used to fill the space between the sealing ring and the rim of the floating roof.

INTERNAL FLOATING COVERS Computer technology, the highest quality of materials and the experience of thousands of installations, places our internal floating cover as the ‘standard of the industry’. Today, many oil and petrochemical companies specify the pontoon type internal floating cover as “the only acceptable design”. Thousands of hours of research and over 30 years of service experience is incorporated into today’s design. High quality corrosion resistant aluminium alloys, combined with the advanced aircraft-type design provides an extremely strong cover with the flexibility necessary to absorb product turbulence often encountered in severe service. Designed and constructed in accordance with API Standard 640 Appendix H, the internal floating cover is proven to exceed the design load requirements for the code by a minimum of 50%. A minimum of 100% excess buoyancy is also provided by the utilisation of standard 10” diameter flotation pontoons that develop twice the strength of competitive designs. Automated welding and pneumatic testing also ensures leak proof integrity. 16
ALUMINIUM DOME ROOFS The design of the geodesic dome, particularly the clear-span feature, is suited to the architectural and engineering requirements of a diverse range of services. This includes water and wastewater treatment, petroleum and petrochemical storage tanks, and bulk solids storage. The geodesic dome is a fully triangulated, spherical, space frame structure. It is designed to be self-supporting from its periphery, through its primary horizontal thrust, which is contained by an integral tension ring. DESIGN VERSATILITY The dome is API 650 appendix G compliant for wind resistance and custom engineered for your specific structural and design requirements. The self-supporting design allows for maximum overhead space use. It also provides interference-free operation for equipment, such as rotating clarifier mechanisms and floating roofs.

HOW WE WORK
Never harming people, the environment or communities is a core value at Murphy.
We believe that regardless of the quality of our safety systems, it is the strength of the safety culture within an organisation that determines how close it can get to ‘never harm’. More importantly, the real key is to sustain this approach. Recognising that traditional safety systems and processes would not achieve sustainability, Murphy embarked upon a Never Harm Culture Programme to deliver its never harm goal. Designed, developed and delivered in-house, the award-winning The programme not only focuses on promoting safe behaviour but, more critically, on developing an understanding of why we do what we do. Murphy’s never harm mental tools (alpha state, habits, personal risk perception, time versus risk and
communication) help employees understand the triggers of their actions and better equip them to make safer choices.
programme goes beyond traditional approaches to empower people to make better choices, helping them to understand and take ownership of the triggers to their behaviours.
